Eid Mubarak everyone!
It’s been a hectic year, this. I can’t believe we are nearly to the end of May… A jam-packed, unexpected year, at least that’s how it feels to me. There have been lots of ups and downs, but Eid is ever a positive event for Pakistani’s like myself.
I hope wherever you are and whatever else you are doing this day and all the coming days of the year are a joy for you as well. I wish everyone reading this, happiness, peace, wisdom and abundance. On that note, I hope you enjoy the poem I wrote this Eid:
Praise
When shall I admire Thee? Under the shadow of a blood moon, Or when cicadas chirp in a banyan tree? When the lustre of pearls catches my eye, Or when the dazzling gleam of water flashes by; Like beaten silver it runs and flows, down mountain slopes as it glows, My breath catches as I gaze: There are not enough days to count the ways... In the veins of a leaf, I see the Divine. On every branch and every vine, In red earth, loamed by showering drops, In crystal faces laced with rainbow lines. The fur of a common cat and it's patterned coat Doth invite envy from tailors and print makers both. The ink of night with it's studded jewels, The bright of sky in mophos wings, A dance of nature in endless rings; Is there a more fitting time? Than now, and then, ever, A more worthy clime?
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!
