Synopsis
This Pakistani Drama De Ijazat is a drama which portrays the status quo in our society. It is about two families one is a middle class family and the other is a very rich upper class business man’s family. Dua (Zarnish) works in a news channel as reporter to support her family who are in financial crisis. The family is not very supportive of her and her parents want her to get married as soon as possible. She is not mentally prepared for this but when a match maker brings in a match she gets ready due to her parents pressure.
Suddenly her in-laws demand that they should agree to get their daughter in return for their son. The son is not ready for this and wants to go to America where he has an online affair. At the night of the marriage he collects all the money and jewelry and runs away. The marriage ceremony is stopped due to this incident and duaa’s in laws get very angry and misbehave with her father and mother. Her father gets a heart attack and the situation becomes very serious.
In the meanwhile duaa goes to cover an event where Shah Waiz (Mikaal Zulfiqar ) sees her and falls in love with her. This is where the tussel between the rich and poor becomes evident in the Pakistani Drama De Ijazat. After a long struggle they get married but now Duaa is to face another struggle of adjusting with her in laws and also supporting her family.
On one side she is struggling for the adjustment and on the other side Shah Waiz is not happy with her and her problems. He wants attention but she does not have time to spare. Her life becomes more difficult with his attitude. Her mother in law is also against her and tries her best that Shah Waiz leaves her and remarries with some girl from their own class.
But after a long struggle and hard work Duaa wins the game and they have a patch up.
The Cast

The cast for the Pakistani Drama De Ijazat was good and everyone played their role very well. The drama was just like a real life scene and every character acted very naturally which is the main reason for the success of the drama. The dialogues were good and all the characters were paced well.
Mikaal and Zarnish match each other not only for looks but also for talent . We’re excited to see this gorgeous duo together for the first time in De Ijazat positive of their excellent chemistry. “Zarnish has been great. She’s not only a talented actor but also a lovely person to work with,” Mikaal shares his experience on working with the beautiful lady.[1]
Review
The Pakistani Drama De Ijazat is a story of love and struggle and not a fairy tale but a real life story. This looks like a true story about the status quo in Pakistan where there is a big gap in rich and poor people. Rich have there own style of living while lower middle class has their own style so this gap leads to a struggle where like always and according to our society creates problems for women and Duua has to put in all the efforts for adjusting to the situation.
In our society women are the one who are expected to sacrifice their career and ego for the household. This is what was expected from Duua. So in my opinion the story seemed very close to real life and portrayed our society well.
