Heat rash occurs when the skin’s sweat glands are blocked and the sweat produced cannot get to the surface of the skin to evaporate. This causes inflammation that result in a rash. Common symptoms of heat rash include red bumps on the skin, and a prickly or itchy feeling to the skin (also known as prickly heat).[1]
Heat rash is a common ailment in the countries with very hot weather. Heat rash is painful and irritable. Generally it happens to children but sometimes when elders are doing hard work in hot weather and do not wash two to three times a days, it occurs in them as well.
To avoid such a painful condition as Heat rash it is necessary to keep oneself clean and remain in airy and cool places. The best places to remain in hot weather are under the shade of trees.
Now a days since the cities are expanding it is very difficult to find shady places but in villages this is still possible. It is better to take precautions to avoid this condition but once it happens the following remedy is best to get rid of heat rash or prickly heat (garmy danay or pit in Urdu).
Remedy
This remedy consists of only one ingredient i.e bentonite clay (multani mitti in Urdu) and water.
Method
Soak 3 table spoons of bentonite clay (Multani Mitti) in 2 cups of water. Let it soak for one hour. After that shake well in a blender. It will look like a runny paste. Apply a layer on the affected part and keep it there for half an hour. After that wash thoroughly. It will be better to take a bath.
Keep using it for 3 days twice a day and if the heat ras is swear use it for at least seven days.
