Benefits of Drinking Water


Experts say we should be drinking at least 8 full glasses of water every day.  Water is not only essential for our continued existence and good health, but also for our hair and skin. I advocate for drinking at least 1.5 litres of plain water, first thing in the morning. When I say first thing, I mean it. Drink water before eating or drinking anything else. It not only flushes out all the toxins, it speeds up your metabolism and revitalizes your skin. Hydrate from the inside out.

In saying all that; here are some benefits of adequate water consumption.

Benefit #1: Water Increases Skin Elasticity

Water maintains optimum skin moisture, and delivers essential nutrients to the skin cells. Skin tissue gets replenished and increases its elasticity. The more hydrated you stay, the fewer wrinkles and fine lines you’ll see.

Benefit #2: Water Brightens Your Complexion

It helps your digestive system flush out toxins from the body. This will improve your complexion and promote; healthy and glowing skin. Increased blood flow to the skin can help even out your skin tone and complexion.

Benefit #3: Water Reduces Puffiness

Why do we get puffy skin? Because our body tends to retain water when dehydrated.

If you want to reduce puffiness and swelling and smooth out your skin, make sure you’re drinking enough water.
