The minced meat used here is finely chopped beef . Generally a machine is used to make minced meat and it helps make the beef in beautifully cut small pieces. It can be done by hand as well but it takes a lot of time to cut the beef in small pieces. Minced meat is a favorite of both children and elders. It is used in different dishes and is cooked in different ways. The recipe I am sharing here is a very common one and is made in every house.
Ingredients:
- ½ Kg minced meat
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 2 medium sized onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 1/4 Kg of potatoes chopped in small pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon dry coriander
- 2 green chilies
- Two serving spoons of ghee or oil
- ½ liter of water
Preparation:
- Put minced meat, onions, garlic and ginger paste, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, and ¼ teaspoon of turmeric in the pressure cooker and add ½ liter of water
- Close the lid and put it on full flame
- When the whistle is blowing lower the heat to medium flame
- Let it cook for 15 minutes
- After opening the lid of the pressure cooker let the water dry and put coriander powder and oil in the cooker and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Put the tomatoes and potato and sauté for 1 minute
- Lower the flame to a minimum and put the lid on
- Cook for about 10 minutes
- Put the green chilies and stir on a medium flame for 30 seconds
Serve it with roti or with boiled rice
