Qeema Matar (green peas and minced meat).

Minces meat and peas

Ingredients:

  • ½ Kg minced meat
  • 2 medium sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • ½ Kg of green peas (peel and use the seeds only)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon dry coriander
  • 2 green chilies
  • Two serving spoons of ghee or oil
  • ½ liter of water

 

Preparation:

  1. Put minced meat, onions, garlic and ginger paste, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, and ¼ teaspoon of turmeric in the pressure cooker and add ½ liter of water
  2. Close the lid and put it on full flame
  3. When the whistle is blowing lower the heat to medium flame
  4. Let it cook for 15 minutes
  5. After opening the lid of the pressure cooker let the water dry and put coriander powder and oil in the cooker and sauté for 5 minutes.
  6. Put the tomatoes and green peas and sauté for 1 minute
  7. Lower the flame to a minimum and put the lid on
  8. Cook for about 10 minutes
  9. Put the green chilies and stir on a medium flame for 30 seconds

Serve it with roti or with boiled rice
