This cold coffee recipe is super easy to pull off. Usually in Pakistan, people prefer instant coffee to brewed, but this recipe can be tweaked to work both ways.
Ingredients
- Chai tea leaves (Lipton) 1 tsp.
- Instant Coffee powder 1 tsp. OR 1 shot of espresso
- Cardamom pods 2
- Milk ¼ cup
- Sugar 4 tbsp. (or to taste)
- Water 1 cup
- Ice ½ cup
- A pinch of Salt
- Whipped cream 1 cup.
Desi Cold Coffee Recipe (Instant Coffee powder version)
- Whip up a cup of cream until soft peaks, if you need further instructions, this a good recipe to follow.
- Boil the cup of water, add cardamom pods and let it cool slightly, then steep the tea leaves in it for 5 minutes.
- Once steeped, strain it, add sugar to taste (I added 2 tbsp.) and stir to dissolve.
- Add the instant coffee powder, and the milk.
- Now, in a separate 500 ml glass, add 1 tbsp. of whipped cream, then ice cubes/crushed, then pour the prepared tea solution on top. Top it with 3 tbsp. of whipped cream and serve.
