Beauty Tip # 3: Aloe Vera Hair Conditioner
Aloe Vera is a miracle ingredient for hair, it leaves hair healthy and shiny as well as gorgeous looking. Combined with all good wholesome and natural ingredients, this Beauty Tip leaves hair looking and feeling wonderful, The Aloe Vera Hair Conditioner is both nourishing and moisturizing. It fixes brittle dry hair and balances pH of the scalp.
The Method
How to Mix the Aloe Vera Hair Conditioner?
Ingredients
¼ Cup Aloe Vera Gel
1 tbsp. Honey
2 tbsp. Lemon Juice
4 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tsp. Coconut oil
Method to make Aloe Vera Hair Conditioner
- In a small bowl mix together the honey and aloe vera gel.
- Add cold coconut oil and whisk to combine together with gel and honey.
- Add lemon juice and apple cider vinegar, whisking continuously.
- Use a blender or food processor if you want a smoother result.
- A thin vinaigrette type mix will form. Seal tightly in a pump.
How to Use?
In the shower, pump out a handful of the Aloe Vera Hair Conditioner and apply liberally to hair after shampooing. Massage the conditioner into the scalp and wait at least 10 minutes before rinsing out. Rise the hair thoroughly and then proceed as usual. Beauty Tip #2: Dye Your Hair with Henna
This one is a very valuable Beauty Tip, I have a lot of experience with hair dye. For me synthetic hair dyes adversely affected the health of my hair and caused increased hair-fall. Therefore, I do not use synthetic dyes any longer, I stick to using Mehndi/Henna and it has made a world of difference to the health of my hair.
The Method
How to Make?
Ingredients
This amount can be used by 1 person with fairly long hair (to the middle of back).
250 gm. Henna
2 Tbsp. Mustard Seed Oil
1 ½ – 2 ½ Cups Water
Method
- Mix henna with enough water to form a paste that has a yogurt like consistency
- Add the oil and mix together with the henna paste.
- Let the henna sit over night or for a minimum of 4 hours before applying.
- Optional: Do a test strand by sectioning out one strand of hair and dyeing it first to understand what kind of colour your hair will get, you can now adjust the recipe to better suit you.
*Can keep henna paste in fridge for two to three days. Ideally you should make a fresh batch every time you use it.
Alternative Method for Browner hair Colour with Coffee Powder:
Ingredients
This amount can be used by 1 person with fairly long hair (to the middle of back).
250 gm. Henna
½ Cup Coffee Powder
2 Tbsp. Mustard Seed Oil
1 ½ – 2 ½ Cups Water
Method
Mix henna and Coffee powder with enough water to form a paste that has a yogurt like consistency
Add the oil and mix together with the henna paste.
Let the henna sit over night or for a minimum of 4 hours before applying
Alternative Method for Browner hair Colour with Indigo Powder:
Just adjust the ratio of henna and indigo according to the instructions In the previous section and mix as given above in the main method.
For adding lemon Juice:
Just add juice of one large or two small lemons to the henna paste before resting in the main method.
How to Use?
Apply all over hair as you would hair dye, sectioning hair and paying careful attention to roots. Cover your head in plastic wrap to keep the henna wet and get the maximum benefits. Leave in for a minimum of two hours, (for best results leave in for 6 hours) and wash out with water (can be left longer). Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner after.

1 Tbsp. Aloe Vera Gel
1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil
½ Tbsp. Castor Oil
*The ratio is 2:2:1 for Aloe Vera: Coconut Oil: Castor Oil.
Method
- Melt the coconut oil by placing it in a metal bowl over a hot water bath for 1 minute.
- Mix all three ingredients together.
*Can keep in fridge for up to a week. Ideally you should make a fresh batch every time you use it.
How to Use?
Apply all over hair and massage into the scalp. Leave in overnight and wash out in the morning (can be left longer). You can apply this at minimum once a week and maximum every day. It shows results within four weeks and many people even see results immediately.
