Ingredients:

2 medium-sized potatoes, boiled, peeled, and mashed

1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)

1/2 teaspoon salt

Water, as needed

Ghee or oil, for cooking

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough:

In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, all-purpose flour, and salt.

Gradually add water and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. The dough should be soft and pliable but not too sticky. Add more flour if needed to achieve the right consistency.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.

2. Roll out the Flatbreads:

Divide the dough into equal-sized portions, roughly the size of golf balls.

Take one portion of the dough and roll it into a ball. Flatten it slightly between your palms.

Dust the flattened dough ball with some flour and roll it out into a flatbread, about 1/4 inch thick. Use a rolling pin and a flat surface dusted with flour to roll out the dough evenly.

3. Cook the Flatbreads:

Heat a griddle or a non-stick pan over medium heat.

Place the rolled-out flatbread on the heated griddle or pan.

Cook for about 1-2 minutes on one side until small bubbles start to appear.

Flip the flatbread and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side until both sides are golden brown and cooked through.

Brush some ghee or oil on both sides of the flatbread during cooking for added flavor and texture.

Repeat the process with the remaining portions of dough.

4. Serve:

Serve the hot potato flatbreads (also known as Aloo Roti) with your favorite curry, chutney, or yogurt.

Enjoy your delicious and simple homemade potato flatbreads!

These potato flatbreads are soft, flavorful, and make a perfect accompaniment to any meal.
