The creature suddenly stopped wriggling and let out a burbling sigh, “Grrrbhmmm, I knew this was a bad idea from the start. I told Gerb, but did he listen? No, no he didn’t. Alright, since it’s come to this, I have no choice but to come clean.” Saying this, the creature sat up and stared at them from inside the net, it’s piercing red gaze even more prominent against the background of it’s black fur.
“Alright, your ‘ighness you’ve caught me.” sighed the creature.
“Who are you?” asked Asfand, fascinated by the creature.
“And what do you want with my cousin? Why is he ‘your highness’?” Ahmed’s voice rang out stridently.
“Yes, yes, keep your knickers on champ. I’m Herb, the leader of the South Patrol and I was sent on a scouting mission by the great Oracle to find our future king. I spent-” the creature replied.
“Wait, wait, what ‘future king’?! Are you talking about Asfand?” Ahmed asked suspiciously. “Because, let me tell you right now, that if you have any expectations of him running off with you, you have another thing coming. I’m not letting my cousin go off with any ratty animal we see.”
“Now see here,” puffed up the creature, “that’s quite rude of you!”
