Beauty DIY # 5: Aloe Vera Hair Mask

Waking up with a pillow peppered with fallen strands of hair? If your hair feels lank, brittle, unhealthy, split-ended or thin, this is an inexpensive hair treatment that makes takes your hair from damaged to healthy in just a few applications.

Ingredients

This amount can be used by 1 person with fairly long hair (to the middle of back).

1 Tbsp. Aloe Vera Gel

1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil

½ Tbsp. Castor Oil

*The ratio is 2:2:1 for Aloe Vera: Coconut Oil: Castor Oil.

Method

  1. Melt the coconut oil by placing it in a metal bowl over a hot water bath for 1 minute.
  2. Mix all three ingredients together.

*Can keep in fridge for up to a week. Ideally you should make a fresh batch every time you use it.

How to Use?

Apply all over hair and massage into the scalp. Leave in overnight and wash out in the morning (can be left longer). You can apply this at minimum once a week and maximum every day. It shows results within four weeks and many people even see results immediately.

Beauty DIY # 4: Lemon Exfoliating Face and Body Scrub

This Lemon Exfoliating Face and Body Scrub, is a strongly yet gentle exfoliating scrub, that makes your skin soft and silky smooth. It is suitable to use on both the body and the face. It removes all dead skin, cleans out pores, extracts toxins and leaves skin looking and feeling good.

How to Make?

This Lemon Exfoliating Face and Body Scrub is simple to make.

¼ cup Coconut Oil

¼ cup Lemon Juice

2 tbsp. Lemon Zest

¼ cup Gram Flour

Honey¼ cup

½ cup Epsom Salt

Sugar ¼ cup

¼ tsp. Turmeric

Directions

  1. Add Lemon juice and honey together in one bowl, mix with a fork until well combined,
  2. Mix in the Lemon zest, turmeric and the gram flour.
  3. When both are well incorporated, add coconut oil and mix well.
  4. Finally, add Epsom Salt and sugar. If the mixture seems too dry, add equal parts honey and coconut oil to dampen. Mix thoroughly to combine.

How to Use?

Use the Lemon Exfoliating Face and Body Scrub both while bathing and on your face.

Beauty DIY # 3: Ultra-hydrating Lip Mask

The Ultra-hydrating Lip Mask has all-natural, nourishing and hydrating ingredients, that not only smother and soften your lips, but also reduce lip lines and cleanse out toxins. Nowadays we tend to use a lot of cosmetics and many of those lip glosses and lipsticks have not so good ingredients.

For example a common ingredient found on lip gloss is Polybutene,which is a polymer, or in other words a plastic. It is generally a good practise to avoid swallowing plastic. This compound can also irritate and damage skin. That is why you need to use a healing and hydrating mask like this Ultra-hydrating Lip Mask on your lips.

How to Make?

This Ultra-hydrating Lip Mask is simple to make.

1/2 tsp. Coconut Oil

1/2 tsp. Honey

Directions

Melt the coconut oil for thirty seconds in the microwave. Mix the ingredients in a bowl with a spoon.

How to Use?

Apply a generous layer of the mask on our lips and leave for at least twenty minutes, then gently rub the mask into your lips for 1 minute and wash off with warm water. Finish with a splash of cold water and your favourite lip balm.

For those of us with oily skin, the struggle to find a good moisturizer is real. I have combo to oily skin and any heavy oily moisturizers tend to break me out. However I still need moisturization for my skin to be healthy. That is why I prefer a light and water-based moisturizer that does not break me out.

How to Make?

This Water-based Moisturizer is very easy to make.

¼ cup Aloe Vera Gel

¼ cup Rose Water

1/8 cup Glycerin

Directions

Mix the three ingredients in small bowl with a wire whisk until well combined. Then keep in a sterilized, airtight glass/plastic container.

How to Use?

Just use as regular moisturizer. It will last up to a month outside of the refrigerator.

Beauty DIY # 1: Winter Deep Moisturizing Mask

This mask is aimed to fight dryness of skin and keep skin smooth and soft throughout the winters. It needs to be applied once a week to achieve best results. It keeps skin hydrated and healthy.

How to Make?

This Winter Deep Moisturizing Mask is simple to make.

1 tbsp. Aloe Vera Gel

1 tbsp rose water

½ tsp Coconut Oil

1 tbsp. Yogurt

Directions

 

  1. Add yogurt and Aloe Vera together in one bowl, mix with a stick blender or regular blender until well combined,
  2. Add the coconut oil and blend again, finally add the rosewater and mix everything together.

How to Use?

Apply a generous layer of Winter Deep Moisturizing Mask and wait for 20 mins. Then clean with warm water, following with cold water to close the pores. Use your favourite moisturizer on your skin while it is still damp, I explain more about this technique in my Rose Water Hydrating Mist Post.
