Chicken Tikka is a very common dish in Pakistan and equally liked by elders and children. There are many ways to make it, some people like it in small pieces and others like large pieces but there is no difference in recipe. If you like big pieces then it has to be cooked on slow fire otherwise cook on the normal coal fire.
Ingredients
Chicken 1 Kg (You can cut it as you like)
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Red chili
Turmeric powder ½ tsp.
2 tbsp. Lemon juice
1 tbsp. Ginger paste
1 tbsp. Garlic paste
2 tbsp. Ground dry coriander
½ tsp. Garam masala powder
2 tbsp. Oil or ghee
Method
Clean and wash the chicken;
Put the chicken in a bowl;
Mix salt, chili, garlic and ginger paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and lemon juice in a separate bowl and mix it well;
Marinade the chicken with this mixture and put it aside for 2-3 hours;
Meanwhile prepare the coals in a ring and start lighting a fire;
Put the chicken on a long metal skewer (if the chicken is cut in small pieces then 2-3 pieces otherwise only one piece)
Cook it on the coal fire and keep turning the sides, when it is half cooked brush it with a little oil;
When they are brown on one side turn the side and brown it on the other side;
Repeat the process with all the chicken;
You can serve it with green chutney (see recipe here) and salad;
Enjoy and let me know how do you like it.
