How to Properly Use Epsom Salt for Health

There are many many uses for Epsom Salt, and each of them requires detailed instructions, however in this article we will focus on three epsom salt bath uses:

  1. Face Wash
  2. Foot Bath
  3. Bathing Soak

Face Cleanser

Epsom salt is very good at cleaning out and detoxifying skin, which is why we recommend it as a face wash additive.

The Steps:

  1. Add about 1/2 of a teaspoon Epsom salt to your a dollop of your favourite face wash.
  2. Dampen your face with a splash of warm water.
  3. Gently massage the modified face into your skin for at least 2 minutes.
  4. Rinse off with warm water. Then splash your face with cold water to close the pores.

Foot Bath

You can sooth sore feet by soaking them in an Epsom salt bath. An Epsom salt bath will also help get rid of corns or painful tendinitis.

The Steps:

  1. Use warm water to fill a small bucket or personal pedicure system . Using water hotter than body temperature is ideal. Consider using boiling water and allowing it to cool until you can comfortably place feet in water.
  2. Add half cup (130 g) of Epsom Salt to 2.5 to 3 litres of warm water. Rub your feet along the salt grains to break it down and get it into sore or painful areas.
  3. keep you feet in the water for at least 20-30 minutes. You can keep them in as long as the water remains warm.
  4. After fifteen minutes it is helpful to rub your feet together, or massage them with your hands, This helps to remove dead skin cells.
  5. Also if the bottoms of your feet are rough, dry and flaky, use an abrasive foot file at this time, it will be very effective.

Bathing Soak

The Steps:

  • Dissolve epsom salt for epsom salt bath in a standard size bath tub at normal hot bath temperatures, ranging from 36 degrees celsius to 40 degrees celsius.
  • Relax and soak for around fifteen to twenty minutes.
  • For complete muscle relaxation use 450g – 1kg of salt per regular sized bath tub.
  • For general well being use approximately 250g to 450g
