Top 3 DIY Facial Scrubs

These are three great recipes for DIY scrubs.

DIY Facial Scrub #3: Blackhead Removal Scrub

Blackheads can be the bane of your existence when trying to achieve a smooth and uniform complexion. Personally I suffer from them quite a bit. I clean them out Twice weekly, using my Black Tea Scrub. That such however is quite a hassle to make and is a pretty involved procedure because of th large amount of ingredients.

Here I will tell you a quick easy and fast scrub that takes literally no time to make and is quite effective.

The Method

How to Make?

This Blackhead Removal Scrub is very easy to make.

½ tsp. Full Cream Milk (Raw milk is better but the other kind will do)

½ tsp. Finely Gound Nutmeg

½ tsp. Aloe Vera Gel (optional)

Directions

Mix all the ingredients in small bowl with a wire whisk until well combined.

How to Use?

Use the Blackhead Removal Scrub like a normal scrub and focus on blackhead areas.

This Lemon Exfoliating Face and Body Scrub is simple to make.

How to Use?

Use the Lemon Exfoliating Face and Body Scrub both while bathing and on your face.

DIY Facial Scrub #1: Black Tea Face Scrub

If you have clogged pores, too-large pores, blackheads, puffy skin, dry skin or hyperpigmentation; this scrub is for you. Previously I gave you a recipe for a super mild exfoliator in the form of a Rice Flour Scrub. This time, however, I am going to give you a recipe for a gentle yet grittier exfoliator – Black tea face scrub. This exfoliator is not nearly as mild as the other one and it has a much thicker grain. It is still gentle enough for sensitive skin but also exfoliates extremely well.

The Method

How to Make?

It is actually rather easy to make if you have the ingredient pre-prepped and on hand like I do, but if not you will have to go through a little bit of an involved process the first time around.

½ tsp. Bentonite clay (pre-soaked and blended)

¼ tsp. Black tea leaves (Fine grind – I use Lipton or Earl Grey)

½ tsp. Gram Flour

½ – 2 tsp. water

A pinch of Turmeric Powder

Directions

  1. Okay, so the process is that first you need to soak and blend your bentonite clay into a smooth paste that is easy to work with. I teach you how to do that in my Bentonite Clay mask post, if you need some directions. It is way easier to just pre-prepare a large batch and keep handy than trying to mix half teaspoons of the stuff by hand. Just trust me on this, I have tried it both ways and you don’t need the hassle of the second method.
  2. Next you have to mix the gram flour and turmeric and get them homogenized with enough water to get a smooth paste the consistency of toothpaste. This is just chucking the ingredients in a small bowl and mixing with a spoon.
  3. Next, either brew a cup of tea and save the tea leaves or soak the leaves in a teaspoon of boiling hot water, leave until they cool down.
  4. Strain the leaves and wash with water.
  5. Now add to the gram flour mix and add the clay as well.
  6. Mix well and your scrub is ready.

How to Use?

Just use the scrub like regular scrub, thoroughly massaging your skin and washing it off. Throw away leftovers; prepare a new batch every time you need one. Also do not scrub your face more than twice a week, which is bad for your skin.
