Get to Know Ya – Book Tag!

Sorry for the barrage of book tags, but I am in the middle of exams and leaving all my ambitious projects to the side for a moment. I am planning a few big movie and book lists though so look out for those to come later. Anyway, on with the show, lets answer this Get to Know Ya – Book Tag! I found this tag on Kat Impossible’s Blog.

Favorite Book of All Time

Hmm, this one is really difficult but, thankfully I can fall back on the fact that I already made a list of my top ten favorite books of all time so, it is Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.

Favorite Book Five Years Ago

Okay so is it bad to say that it was Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught, sorry I was a teenager going through a hardcore romance obsession.

Favorite Duology/Trilogy/Series

This one is easy, its Harry Potter. Always.

Last Book You Read

This one was His Majesty’s Dragon by Naomi Novik, I liked it and am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.

Last Book of Poetry I’ve Read

Okay Get to Know Ya tag, you are really putting me through the  wringer. I am slightly ashamed to admit that this was my English literature course book. I typically do not read poetry in books, I search for it online and read some good blogs. One blog that I would recommend for great poetry is Ancient Skies.

However to make it seem like I am not as uncultured as I seem I will take this opportunity provided by the Get to Know Ya tag to quote my favourite poem of all time:

“Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.”

What Book Most Influenced Your Life

I don’t know what to answer here, since it is most definitely Harry Potter, however I don’t wanna just answer every Question in this Get to Know Ya tag with Harry Potter so it could be Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, that book really had a lot of affect on me as a teen, I found the lesson profound and my pride has always been one of biggest weaknesses.

Book That Made You Ugly Cry

This one was A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, I just can’t help myself with this one. However the movie is even better than the book.

Book That Made You Laugh

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, I will guiltily admit that I only recently read this masterpiece. I enjoyed it a great deal, definitely recommend.

Character You’d Like to Be For a Day

This would be either Hermione Granger from Harry Potter or Alanna from the Song of the Lioness. Both are badass women I would love to be.

Book So Good You Dreamt About It

I actually dream quite a bit, but my most recent dreams have not included any books… However I can definitely remember dreaming about Harry Potter at some point.

Book You DNFed

Oh boy, this is looong list, I like to believe that I don’t leave things unfinished but sometimes I just can’t take it anymore so, the most recent one is Specials (Uglies #3) by Scott Westerfeld, it just got too boring to hold my interest. I had already read the previous two books in the series. BTW for all those people who are not book nerds like me, DNF means Did Not Finish.

What Book Are You Excited to Read

So Many Books, however I have promised myself that I will read 1984 by George Orwell, I am looking forward to this a lot.  I have heard a lot about this book.
