I Answer the Life In Books Tag

Life In Books Tag

Harry Potter Series

Hi Everyone! I know that I have been on book kick recently, and I‘m sorry if you think this is lazy posting (it kind of is, actually, I planned to post a list of 100 books, but…) but here I go with another book tag! I found this Life In Books Tag on Berries & Books a book blog run by the lovely Dora. It seemed fun to do so I decided to answer it. Without further ado let’s get to answering the Life In Books Tag!

1. Find a book for each of your initials.

Okay just in case anyone doesn’t know, my full name is Daima Hussain. My first answer for the Life In Books Tag:

D – Divergent by Veronica Roth

H – Harry Potter and the Philosophers’ Stone by J.K. Rowling

2. Count your age along your bookshelf – what book

The Road Less Travelled

is it?

Be proud of me guys’ I actually got out of the bed and according to the instructions of the Life In Books Tag, I got up and counted along my bookshelf. The result is The Road Less Travelled by M. Scott Peck. This is one of the books my dad bought but never read and so ended up being absorbed into my hoard. It is a self help book rather than a novel, but I decided to include it anyway, because it is a great book.

3. A book set in your city/country

Life In Books Tag

The Far Pavillions

I don’t know if this really counts as it’s set in the Subcontinent rather Pakistan directly, but I will pick it cause I can’t remember any others right now. But anyway my pick is The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye, this is a brilliant book, a little bit difficult to read but very engrossing.

4. A book that represents a

Memoirs of a Geisha

destination you’d love to travel to

I have always wanted to visit Japan so my pick is Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. Even though I disliked the movie, the book is pretty okay-ish.

5. A book that’s your favorite color

Okay so my favorite color is blue, (yes, yes I know that’s cliché and predictable).

And I wanna make an effort for this Life In Books Tag so I wanna pick a book I have actually read and enjoyed reading, therefore I picked Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle #1) by Christopher Paolini.

Eragon

6. Which book do you have the fondest memories of?

Harry Potter Series

Okay, this one definitely goes to the Harry Potter series as a whole, I love those books and still re-read them frequently.

7. Which book did you have

the most difficulty reading?

Anna Karenina

Ugh, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, I always find Tolstoy a real slog to get through, that’s why I still haven’t managed to finish reading War and Peace, (I started reading that book in 8th Grade, picking it up sporadically afterwards). Plus I really disliked Anna as a character, I’ll be honest this is one of those books that I read just so that I could say, “Oh, Anna Karenina, yeah, I‘ve read it”.

8. Which book in your TBR pile will give you the biggest

The Art of War

accomplishment when you finish it?

The Art of War by Sun Tzu, this is one book I really want to read but I know is going to be an absolute nightmare to get through. I happen to be a person who believes that one should read this book at least once in your life, so let’s see how this goes.

“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”

― Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Anyway, guys, I hope you enjoyed that little post, and I want to leave your answers (at least to the first question) in the comments down below!
